About the School

St. Clere's School is a specialist Language College and Training School. We are a constantly improving school that Ofsted has judged as 'Good' (2002).

St. Clere's has served the local communities of Stanford-le-Hope, East Tilbury, Linford, Orsett and Horndon-on-the-Hill since 1978 and has developed a proud reputation of academic excellence.

St. Clere's school became a Langauge College in 2001. As a Language College we are committed to being an outward looking school with an international spirit because we want our pupils to have a future on the world stage.

More recently St. Clere's School became a Training School. As a Training School, we are able to constantly improve the quality of teaching and learning.

We use an exciting range of techniques and resources in the classroom to make sure that each student is motivated, focused and learning effectively. Our students are encouraged to become independent and active learners, taking personal responsibility for their work and pride in their achievements. We encourage them to think critically, to express themselves as individuals and to communicate with confidence.

St. Clere's has an inclusive curriculum with a balance of vocational and academic subjects, allowing students to match courses with their interests and abilities. Students, their teachers and parents work closely to develop Individual Education Plans and personal targets to secure their success. This is relected in our excellent examination results.
