ADMISSION
POLICY FOR ST CLERE’S SCHOOL 2006/2007
St Clere’s School
is a DfES designated Language College. The school’s number
intended to admit for September 2006 is 201.
In the event of there being more applications for places at St
Clere’s School than there are places available, places will
be allocated in the following order of priority:
A. Pupils resident
in the priority admissions area (catchment area) of St Clere’s
School in the following order of priority:
1. pupils who have
brothers or sisters attending the school at the date of admission
2. pupils resident in the priority admissions area
B. Residence outside
the priority admissions area of St Clere’s School in the
following order of priority:
1. pupils who have
brothers or sisters attending the school at the date of admission
2. pupils living closest to the school. Straight-line measurements
from the home address to the school building will be used.
• Distance from
home to school will be used as a ‘tie-breaker’ in
the event of two pupils having equal right to an available place.
As mentioned above, straight-line measurements from the home address
to the school building will be used.
• The Governing
Body will give children in public care priority above all other
criteria.
Note: St Clere’s
School is the designated Thurrock Local Authority’s resource
base for visual and hearing impaired children who have a full
statement of special needs. These children are not included in
the school’s published admission limit.
